Well wasn't that fun. After a far too long hiatus, the Blake Van Winkle 10NM Pursuit Race revived at QCYC on June 17th. Rather than a madhouse start, boats would leave according to their rating. Slowest boat going first. It was a spirited race with glorious winds and likely claims of ten and 12 knots.

In the end the overall glory belonged to Erik Whan and his wunderkinds aboard Alpha Omega while Mark McCrae's misfits took first in the FS division.

After over beers and BS'ing, the general consensus was it is a fun way to race and everyone was looking forward to next year.

From the a newspaper article in the QCYC archives: Blake Van Winkle was elected commodore at the annual meeting of the Queen City Yacht Club for the year 1935. His motor cruiser "Rip VII" now becomes the flagship of the club's fleet. Commodore Van Winkle Is one of the best known yachtsmen on Lake Ontario, having taken an active interest in yachting activities all his life, and for many years he has been secretary of the Lake Yacht Racing Association, For the past year he served as vice-commodore of the Q.C.Y.C,
