Learn to Sail 2018 Programs

Home » Node » 4926

We are hard at work planning a great summer for Learn to Sail. Registration is open and I’d like to share what is going on:

The key ingredient of any camp is having coaches who combine experience and fun. Our goal is to have the best staff on the lake! As such, I’m very pleased that Rachel Kozicz is returning to QCYC as our Head Instructor after spending two years working full-time in France, teaching Elementary School English. Rachel is highly respected and well known to QCYC, having spent three years at QCYC as our Race Coach. Rachel is an engaging, professional, and organized person who has made a significant contribution to the hiring process this year. Emma Fricker is returning as our High-Performance Race Coach and Louis Riel-Brickie, a former 29ner Canadian Champion, joins as our Advanced Coach. We evaluating candidates for a dedicated CanSail 3 coach – stay tuned. In CanSail 3 we are resuming our very popular 2-week CanSail 3 program. For CanSail 1 and 2, our great team of Arry Vasilodimitrakis-Hart and Mathew Jennings are returning, bringing us their infectious enthusiasm. Mathew is upgrading his instructor certification to CanSail 34 certification much like Arry did last year. It is great to see this commitment to continued learning!

Youth registration is now open at https://qcyc.ca/isport/lts/youth.php. A tip - if you are interested in registering for either Session 2 or 4, register early. These sessions are very popular and always the first to fill up. If you know anyone who would be interested in Sailing camp, let them know about us! To stay up to date with developments check (or follow) our Facebook page.

We also have popular and fun adult programs. Details and registration are here: https://qcyc.ca/isport/lts/adult.php. Both our weekend keelboat cruising and our weeknight dinghy courses bring good times that improve your skills while leaving city life behind (at least for a while).

Please promote our programs!
