Who Joins QCYC?

All kinds of people. We are an inclusive club that welcomes members from all backgrounds, ages and stages. We have new sailors, experienced racers, long distance cruisers, new families, singles and empty nesters. We were one of the first clubs to accept women as Senior, voting members (way back in the 1950s.) People who enjoy boating, enjoy life, and appreciate the do-it-yourself spirit, join QCYC.

Four types of membership are available for New Members – if you have a boat you can apply for either Senior or Dry Sail. If you don’t have a boat you can apply for either Associate or Student.

Senior Membership

If you wish to keep a boat at QCYC in a mooring, you can apply to become a Senior Member. Senior membership can be for one person or two people as a spousal unit. As a Senior Member at QCYC you can keep a boat at a mooring, have a locker, use all of the club’s facilities, vote for the Board of Directors, and be elected to the Board of Directors.

Take advantage of our beautiful island location this Summer! Learn more...

Dry Sail Membership

If you wish to keep a small, dry sail boat at QCYC, you can apply to become a Dry Sail member. Dry sail members can keep a trailerable boat at QCYC, launch from our crane or ramp, and use all of the club’s facilities. We have a large fleet of Stars – if you have a Star and are looking to race – join us.  Learn more...

Associate Membership

If you wish to enjoy the club, participate in racing and social activities, but do not wish to have a boat at the club, this is the category for you.  Learn more...

Student Membership

If you are between the ages of 16 and 25 and want to be part of the club and do not have a boat, this is the category for you.  Learn more...

Two Special Membership Types: Senior Associate & Out of Town

There are two additional membership categories that are only available to our current Senior members.  Senior Associate membership is no longer available, however, members currently in this category may remain.  Senior members who moves out of town or plans to be away for an extended time but wants to maintain a connection to the club may want to consider Out of Town membership.
