Covid 19 Update - May 17, 2020

Boat Clubs in Ontario have now been given the opportunity to launch boats and to be open.

QCYC is proceeding to launch those boats who selected Options 1, 2, or 3 on the survey undertaken on May 11, 2020. Launch is scheduled to begin on June 13, 2020. Boats having expressed an interest in launching must confirm their commitment to launch by June 5th, 2020.

In order to reduce numbers in the yard and allow generous personal distancing, launch group has been divided into four sub-groups, A to D. Each of these sub-groups has been allocated specific days that they can prepare their boats. Refer to the new Club protocols for access to the club and other Covid 19 related requirements.

As a condition of your visit to the Club, members affirm that you will follow these protocols. Access is limited to only those members or designated representatives preparing their boats, flood mitigation workers, Board members on club business, and staff.

Our club tenders are not yet running and will not be until July 1, 2020 at the earliest. QCYC member access to the City of Toronto ferry is limited to 10 persons per trip. Members coming to the club must register for a particular ferry as outlined in the new protocols.

The clubhouse is still closed, including the Snug, with the exception of the Snug washroom for members on site and the men’s washroom for our live-a-board members.

Queen City is one of Toronto’s oldest and friendliest sailing clubs. Located on Algonquin Island in the Toronto harbour and open from April until October, we not only love to sail and socialize, we also promote and encourage participation in the sport with our popular learn to sail programs.
