The annual awards banquet for the AHMEN racing series was held at National Yacht Club on the evening of February 1st, and Queen City members walked away with a lot of yellow flags from the 2012 season. AHMEN is an inter-club organization that runs a half-dozen or so offshore type races every year in the late summer and early fall. It's a lot of fun to get out of the harbour and sail some long legs for a change, and there really is no reason not to race: the entry fee is "Free".
The Queen City Yacht Club fondly remembers the Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Lincoln Alexander, attending our centennial celebrations and Sail Past in 1989. He was a great man and he will be missed.
