Heritage Toronto will be unveiling a historical plaque to QCYC to celebrate our 125th anniversary. The dedication will be on the Ward's Island dock at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 7th. We hope to see lots of members there. I will conduct a historical walk and talk from the dock around the moorings in the lagoon, through the marine yard and ending with a tour of the club house which you might find interesting. If you have not all ready donated to the plaque please see Laura or Allison at the Office.
We will dedicate the new Time Capsule this Saturday May 31st at 5:00pm in the club house lobby. We will start to fill it with items that will be of interest to members in 2039. The capsule which was acquired by Yves Florack of the 125th Anniversary Committee is made from a rather unique item which all Canadian sailors will find interesting.
Sunday May 25th at 2:30 pm we will be visiting the grave of our First Commodore Tommy World. The Reverend Canon Heather McCance will give a blessing and Don Hinchley will speak of our First Commodores many contributions. I believe that the Club might not have survived to mark its 125th if it was not for this amazing and dedicated Commodore.
