In 1989, QC celebrated its centennial year. The club's second century opened in grand style in February with a Centennial Ball at the Palais Royale in Toronto. With period costumes the order of the evening, most members responded with nautical elegance reminiscent of Queen City's heritage.

The year was also marked by the striking of a new burgee and the sailing of a Centennial Race. Most enduring of all the tributes was the publication of the 112-page full-colour QCYC Centennial Book, which was entirely researched, written, designed and published by QCYC members. Sections from the book are excerpted here. The Centennial Book has been out of print and unavailable for purchase for a number of years.

As many new members has not seen the book it has been scanned and by clicking on the picture above you can see a PDF version.  Or continue below to read some of the highlights from QCYC's 120+ year-history.
