Queen City Awarded At AHMEN

The annual awards banquet for the AHMEN racing series was held at National Yacht Club on the evening of February 1st, and Queen City members walked away with a lot of yellow flags from the 2012 season.  AHMEN is an inter-club organization that runs a half-dozen or so offshore type races every year in the late summer and early fall.  It's a lot of fun to get out of the harbour and sail some long legs for a change, and there really is no reason not to race: the entry fee is "Free".

In the 2012 season, QCYC's Frank Bushe (Fine Wine) and crew won first overall for the series in the White Sail 2 fleet.  John McLeod (Zig Zag) and his crew picked up third overall in that same fleet.  Also winning flags (they are awarded on a race-by-race basis) were One More Time, Panache, Veloce and Amelie.
